This young adult science fiction provides an escape to another galaxy. (Pretty nice, if you are stuck in your house.) As always, fabulous characters and witty banter from this author. Plan to lose sleep.

Escape by going back in time with this young adult historical fiction set during World War II in Japan. Captivating, poignant, and immersive.
Lizard In a Zoot Suit
by Marco Finnegan
This is a historical, sci-fi graphic novel. Yes, read that description again. So if you love a good genre mash-up, then this a book for you.
The Kingdom of Back
by Marie Lu
Another genre mash-up, they are all the rage. This is historical fiction and fantasy following the musical Mozart siblings through Europe–and another more mysterious, magical, and dangerous world.
The Killing Fog (The Grave Kingdom Book 1)
by Jeff Wheeler
This is a high fantasy book with an Eastern feel. Although not specifically written and targeted to the young adult market, it is a great book to reach up and grab.
