Target Acquired is the second book in Lynette Eason’s Lake City Heroes series. Since this book can standalone, the author doesn’t spend a lot of time rehashing the storyline from her previous book. This is a welcome relief from other books where the author is constantly reminding readers of what they read in a different book.

In true Eason fashion, the story starts out with action and it keeps moving throughout. Kenzie King, the lead character, has a lot of difficult history relating to her family. Things keep getting more complicated, and it is an exciting read. Readers will enjoy trying to figure out who is behind the killings.

It feels like Cole Garrison, the leading male character, is not as well-developed. It would have been nice to learn more about him. Although one of the positives about this is there is a lead character that seems to be fairly well adjusted without some major challenge from his past. If you are looking for action, mystery and romance this book has it all.
