Books and reading have always been an important part of my life. When I was very young, my grandma was the library director at our local public library. Years later, after she had retired, I became a librarian at the same library and worked there for several years before taking a part-time job at a local coffee shop, which gives me more time to do what I love, to read and to review books! A few of my favorite authors are Aimee Bender, Diane Chamberlain, and Curtis Sittenfeld however, I will read almost any book I come across! In my spare time you can find me reading (of course), volunteering at a wildlife animal rehab, or hanging out with my three house rabbits.
I am feeling a little blue about this book. I thought I would love it, since I have always been fascinated by Frank Lloyd Wright and his architecture. So endeared am I to his work that I have visited …
I have seen a lot of reviews about this particular book, and for some reason I didn't pay attention to them at all. This is a lesson to me to pay attention because I almost missed out on wha…
If you are as in love with fairy tales as I am, then be sure to put Liesl & Po on your list of books to read. It may be a book meant for a 12-year-old, but I am much older…
I haven't read In Cold Blood, but after reading this book, and hearing about the similarities, I think I just might have to. If you have trouble getting excited over a non-fiction book, or t…
I try to read children's books every once in a while, not only to stay relevant, but also because when I read them, I get transported back to my childhood--a childhood filled with books and reading. M…
Do you have a passion for flowers? Do they speak to you, or mean more than they might to the average human? Did you absolutely adore The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh? If y…
I've read as many of Elin Hildrebrand's books as I could easily get my hands on. I saw she was coming out with Winter Street and was excited, until I saw the size of the book. Most of her pr…
Having read Jason Mott's debut novel The Returned (which has since been made into a TV series), I knew that I could expect this book to be a well-written page turner. I was not disappointed.…
Oh goodness. This book was amazingly satisfying to a booklover like me. The Bookman's Tale was a delightful journey through past and present, one that I didn't want to end. Of course, t…
Have you read anything by Diane Chamberlain yet? If not, feel free to start with The Silent Sister. Although Ms. Chamberlain has written many books, which are all outstanding, this is her ne…
Are you looking for a good book to read over the weekend, or within the next few days? I may have the perfect choice for you. Does a book about a close-knit family who starts to fall apart after a tra…
Small Blessings was a very interesting read. For me, it is hard to assign it into just one category. It felt like an inspirational read, but it had a notable amount of swearing and sex--something…
