Books and reading have always been an important part of my life. When I was very young, my grandma was the library director at our local public library. Years later, after she had retired, I became a librarian at the same library and worked there for several years before taking a part-time job at a local coffee shop, which gives me more time to do what I love, to read and to review books! A few of my favorite authors are Aimee Bender, Diane Chamberlain, and Curtis Sittenfeld however, I will read almost any book I come across! In my spare time you can find me reading (of course), volunteering at a wildlife animal rehab, or hanging out with my three house rabbits.
If you recently read The Fault in Our Stars and you haven't cried your eyeballs out enough, then this book is for you. Though it doesn't have quite the same feel (not as much romance between the chara…
It seems as though more and more, teen books are starting a trend of confronting tough situations. Whether it is cancer, abuse, self-harm--anything that a teen can relate to is fair game. I think this…

I think the first book I read by Jacqueline Wilson was Candyfloss, a book with a cover so pink and sugary-looking, you would almost think if you licked it, you'd get a sugar rush. I probably read…
How to begin a review of such a stunning book? I feel like anything I can say about this novel will be like a drop in the ocean compared to what it really is. To know the full impression this book mad…
If you are craving a book that is different from your everyday read in so many ways, might I suggest A Sudden Light? In many ways this book reminded me of something that would have appealed to me…
When we received this title at the library I am employed with, I didn't think I would ever read it. It looked like just another "feel good" story that is published around Christmas time to tug at your…
The Girls of August wasn't as good as I expected it to be. I read this book in the darkest part of winter, hoping it might be a good pick-me-up and kind of a ray of sunshine during the cold dark …
For a debut novel, this book is quite a stunner. I hardly know where to start. When I first began, I wasn't sure I would be able to get through it; it didn't seem to be going anywhere in the first sev…
Sometimes I look at my life and my lack of friends, and wonder how I got to now without more support. That love and care that a best friend in a book or movie is always lavishing on their girlfriends.…
I don't know about you, but if my father were a police officer or a firefighter, I would probably have frequent nightmares about him bursting into flames, or being shot on the job. Both professions ar…
I have had this book on my "to-read" list for a long time. It always takes me a while to finally reach for titles on my list that are children's books, although I don't know why, because I often find …
