Book Review

Publisher's Note:

Former Delta Operative Colt Kingston knows when someone is lying. He may not know the truth, but he sure doesn't trust Tae, the woman who is caring for his ailing father at Sky King Ranch. Behind those beautiful blue eyes, he can tell there is a troubled--and smart--woman. A few of her stories prove true--he's found the crashed plane and the dead body inside. Still, her story of survival seems too incredible to believe . . . until the thugs she claims to be hunting her show up and threaten Sky King Ranch. Now Tae must disappear, along with her secrets. But Colt's not about to let her go it alone. And when they discover that her secrets include the antidote to a plague that threatens the world, it'll take all three Kingston brothers to save the country they've vowed to protect. Susan May Warren brings her Sky King Ranch series to a climactic close with this high-stakes race against the clock.…

Sundown

by Susan May Warren

Overall Book Review:

The adventures of the Kingston brothers conclude with Sundown in the Sky King Ranch Series. Susan May Warren brings closure to some aspects of the series by taking care of the Kingston boys and their romantic interests. Based on past history, it is likely this will not be the last that is heard about Colt, Ranger, and Dodge, but at least they seem to have a positive direction in their lives.

This book continues the plot set forth in the previous two installments, and one really needs to read those in order to have the full picture. The book moves quickly and as is typical of Warren’s books, multiple characters from other books appear in this one. The interesting part will be to see which characters later become the focus of books of their own.

It is satisfying to watch as Colt comes to terms with his own failings and shortcomings. Reading about his finding redemption and forgiveness for himself is very satisfying. In true Susan May Warren fashion this is intermingled with all sorts of crazy and dangerous situations. More than anything, it is uplifting to see big, tough, strong men who make following God a masculine trait and not a weakness.
