The penguin comedy, Pablo and Splash, takes the reader on a crazy romp through both time and space with two loveable flightless protagonists. The silliness of these two characters is heartwarming and giggle-worthy, and young readers will find their banter entertaining. Facts about everything from physics to paleontology abound in this book, worked into the dialogue by avian exposition and corralled together like a flock of knowledge tidbits after the narrative. The illustrations are entertaining and visually interesting. The only downside to this book is that plotline is a bit disjointed and feels at times sporadic and rushed, like several of the different scenarios in the book could have been their own deeper story, but are instead set end to end in abbreviated form. However, this does lead to action that really flies along, which may appeal to readers who want a quick read.
