One Last Promise by Susan May Warren is all the reasons people read Warren’s work. This is the third book in the Alaska Air One Rescue series. It could be a standalone book, but for those who know the author’s style, not even her series truly stand alone. Many of her characters from other books and other series are sprinkled liberally throughout to season the story.
Pretty much all of the characters in Warren’s books must be exhausted. They are always running. Running from the past, running from the present, running from the future, running from someone, running from God. This story is no different. However, like other books in the author’s repertoire, readers are rooting for the success of the characters.
The exciting and dangerous rescue scenarios are weaved into the lives of the characters. The book begins with intense excitement and ends…on a classic Warren cliffhanger. Don’t worry, there is definitely a next book to help with that. Laugh, cheer and root for your favorite rescue heroes. It is a bit of a wild ride, as usual.
