Susan May Warren starts book two of her Alaska Air One Rescue in typical Warren fashion. Why waste even one page without some action? Readers are immediately immersed in exciting and dangerous rescues and the world of all the families that are a part of the team. Readers should not only read the first book in the series, but several other series as well in order to really understand who all of the characters are.
This novel is so packed with daring rescues and intrigue that readers will find it hard to put it down. Even if one is pretty certain what is going to happen, one wants to read on to make sure everything happens as it should. If you have read other books by Warren, you will be prepared for the fast-paced story, but in this book, if it is possible, it seems there are even fewer places where the plot slows.
The author does a great job of dropping lots of hints about her plot and its direction without giving away the ultimate ending. One of the other things done well is the weaving in of characters from other books. The characters are treated like friends you should already know, but just in case you don’t, you are treated to a few hints about their stories.
There is plenty of action, romance, and emotion to keep readers going for days. Can’t wait to see what book 3 has in store!
