Books and reading have always been an important part of my life. When I was very young, my grandma was the library director at our local public library. Years later, after she had retired, I became a librarian at the same library and worked there for several years before taking a part-time job at a local coffee shop, which gives me more time to do what I love, to read and to review books! A few of my favorite authors are Aimee Bender, Diane Chamberlain, and Curtis Sittenfeld however, I will read almost any book I come across! In my spare time you can find me reading (of course), volunteering at a wildlife animal rehab, or hanging out with my three house rabbits.

It took a little bit for me to get into The Rift, but once I did, I couldn't stop reading! It reminded me a bit of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, as both this book and that seri…
There are some books I would never pick up if it weren't for review purposes, and Frankly in Love is one of them. I had heard of this book and seen it all over Goodreads, but for some reason…
Looking for something to feed your desire for books that are full of adventure and survival? Then look no further than The Starlight Claim, which is apparently the companion novel to a book …
Although this book is being touted as "feminist" and "timely" (and don't get me wrong, it is!), I am so used to reading YA books that have a strong female protagonist that I thought nothing of the fac…
On the surface, When I was Summer is simply a book about a teen girl searching for her identity in several different ways. But once you get into the story it's much deeper than that. Nora is…

Dig

If you have never read a book by A.S. King, then you are in for a wild ride with Dig. If you have read any of A.S. King's previous books, then you're still in for a wild ride, but you probab…
The Truth and Lies of Ella Black begins with an eerie timeline on the edge of the page with a chart that seems to be a timeline saying "40 days until she dies". As the book progresses and th…
I remember when the first book in the Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children Series was first published, and how unique and cool I found it. A book for teens about weird kids who had special abilities? An…
As a teen, I remember reading many books that I couldn't necessarily relate to, but that were entertaining and felt like a peek into a teen's glamorous and exciting life. I think I always loved these …
This book was definitely not one that I thought I would find myself relating, or one that I would be unable to put down! Amazingly, it was both of those and so much more. Before reading this book I ha…
Sophie Kinsella is probably most known for her chick-lit Shopaholicseries; however, I have never actually read any of that collection. Honestly, I can't say that I want to; I'm quite content with…
