Books and reading have always been an important part of my life. When I was very young, my grandma was the library director at our local public library. Years later, after she had retired, I became a librarian at the same library and worked there for several years before taking a part-time job at a local coffee shop, which gives me more time to do what I love, to read and to review books! A few of my favorite authors are Aimee Bender, Diane Chamberlain, and Curtis Sittenfeld however, I will read almost any book I come across! In my spare time you can find me reading (of course), volunteering at a wildlife animal rehab, or hanging out with my three house rabbits.
I don't know what to write first about this book...oh, wait! Yes I do! Before you start reading, make sure you have plenty of food around you. Preferably some pizza, doughnuts, hotdogs--maybe throw in…
When I first got wind of this book, I thought it sounded weird and interesting, but I wasn't sure how well I would be able to read it on a tablet. When the chance to read a paperback copy arose, I too…
When one plane crashes, we call it an accident. When two crash within a few days, we would probably suspect terrorism. Three planes would be inconceivable. What about if four planes crash, all at…
Upon reading the synopsis of this book, I just knew I would adore it. Every now and then I will read a non-fiction book that is so outstanding that I can't put it down. This was one of them. D…
Everything I Never Told You is Celeste Ng's first book, but you wouldn't know it. She writes with a lyrical and crystal clear style that really impressed me. I will admit that I wasn't going…
Pretty Girl-13 is a book that will chill you to the bone, and make you think twice before you venture too far into the woods alone. I had seen a few reviews about this book, but brushed them off.…
I have read and reviewed all three of Mary Potter Kenyon's books, and they keep getting better as she goes! Even if she is writing about couponing, she manages to tie in parts of her family life that …
I don't know about you, but having recently read Atwood's MaddAddam, and years before that The Year of the Flood, it came as kind of a shock to see a book of short stories being published. I …
When I think of Michael Perry, I think "interesting non-fiction author", in fact, if you asked me if I thought he would ever write a book for kids, I would say "Um...NO!" I read Coop, Michael's t…
Sometimes I see a book and I know right when I see it that it just looks like a book I will enjoy.  The Ghost in the Electric Blue Suit was different. I have never read anythi…
Books about food fascinate me. They always have. Reading the middle grade Redwall series, my mouth would water at the lavish spreads the little rodents would devour. So it is only natural th…
I have read all of Heather Gudenkauf's books to date, and each and every one makes me a little bit prouder to be an Iowan because Heather lives here, and her books are good, as in Jodi Picoult-go…
