Books and reading have always been an important part of my life. When I was very young, my grandma was the library director at our local public library. Years later, after she had retired, I became a librarian at the same library and worked there for several years before taking a part-time job at a local coffee shop, which gives me more time to do what I love, to read and to review books! A few of my favorite authors are Aimee Bender, Diane Chamberlain, and Curtis Sittenfeld however, I will read almost any book I come across! In my spare time you can find me reading (of course), volunteering at a wildlife animal rehab, or hanging out with my three house rabbits.
I am obsessed with reading. Seriously obsessed. I cannot imagine going even one day without reading a book of some kind. Heck, I work in a library, and sometimes I crave reading so much that I will be…
I'm not really fond of romance novels.  In fact, I kind of despise them. They seem so frilly and shallow with no substance. But sometimes YA "romance" is a little more appealing to me than the fl…
The word "spinster"...what image does it conjure in your mind's eye? A wrinkled old woman? For me, it is a spool of thread, or a spindle. It turns out my imagination wasn't far from reality, as the wo…
If I could write a book and make it as beautiful and helpful as this one, I would. Kimber Simpkins isn't perfect, but her voice is. She tells her story of pain, fear, and ultimately, triumph, in such …
I'm not sure what caught my interest about this book. The cover certainly is cool and so is the title, but neither of them really give the reader any idea of what is going to happen between the covers…
I knew what I was getting into when I began this book. I knew it wasn't going to be the happiest book I read this week, but that was okay with me. This book deals with a subject that is a tender one f…
Lucy Knisley has once again left me longing to travel more and see the world. Although in this book she is a bit more restrained in her adventures because she is accompanying her grandparents, th…
I have heard so much buzz about this book--all of it good. I kept thinking I would run across a copy, but it didn't happen so I bought a copy. Oh my gosh, I wasn't that impressed! …
I have read so many good things about this book, and I have been waiting for a chance to read it for what seems like ages. So I might have had high expectations about this graphic novel, but I wasn't …
Elizabeth Berg has been one of my favorite authors for years. I started reading her books in my early teens, and though I couldn't really relate to most of the characters she created, I still lik…
Many of the people that interested in this review will be parents looking into this book for their children. Children who are obsessed with this game called Minecraft--which is still quite confusing t…
When I saw that Lisa Genova had a new book coming out, I was so excited! I have read and adored all of her previous books, and I was so sure that I would like this one, too. I will admit I did have hi…
