Books and reading have always been an important part of my life. When I was very young, my grandma was the library director at our local public library. Years later, after she had retired, I became a librarian at the same library and worked there for several years before taking a part-time job at a local coffee shop, which gives me more time to do what I love, to read and to review books! A few of my favorite authors are Aimee Bender, Diane Chamberlain, and Curtis Sittenfeld however, I will read almost any book I come across! In my spare time you can find me reading (of course), volunteering at a wildlife animal rehab, or hanging out with my three house rabbits.

I have been reading Margaret Peterson Haddix books ever since I can remember. I think my younger sister actually introduced me to her books, and although some of the books have a lot of violence or sc…
One would think a girl with the name "Sugar Mae Cole" would have a pretty sweet life, right? Unfortunately, names don't always have the power to change the way a person's life goes. Sugar has had a ha…
I've been reading Lisa Graff's books since I was a little kid. I picked up A Tangle of Knots out of curiosity because the cover was just so delicious. When I read the synopsis, I knew t…
The cover of this book looks a bit mysterious and shady, but the story inside is neither of those things! Instead, it is a story of a young girl, a parrot, and a friendship that comes directly from th…
If you haven't read The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, I would encourage you to do so. You can read this review first of course, but The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessey com…
I must have inherited my fascination with the Holocaust from my mother. Whenever a new book chronicling any kind of history about the camps or a person involved in the Holocaust is published, it is al…
