Tangled in Time, Book Cover
Time travel is all the rage. (The Avengers are doing it.) So, take a trip through time and unravel a mystery.

The Last Last-Day-of-Summer, Book Cover
What could be a more perfect read for a summer reading list than a book with this title? A good adventure read.

Can You Crack the Code? - Book Cover
So, how about learning cool stuff about codes so you can use it to do cool things this summer? This is the stuff of spies so check it out.

No Slam Dunk, Book Cover
This author knows his stuff and this book is for both sports lovers and non-sport lovers alike. So, when you need to escape the heat on the court outside, pick up this title.

The Ice Garden, Book Cover
If you are looking for an escape to a fantasy world, this is the read for you. Chill out with The Ice Garden this summer.

Goodbye, Mr Spalding - Book Cover
This middle grade pick is historical fiction set during the Great Depression with some sports mixed in. Can’t say enough good things about it.

George Washington's Secret Six, Book Cover
Think National Treasure–except this time it isn’t fiction but the real deal. Read this and Can You Crack the Code? and the CIA just may come and recruit you.

The Bridge Home, Book Cover
If you can’t travel this summer, then travel in a book to an exotic location: India. Discover a new place through the pages of a book.

The Greatest Treasure Hunt in History-The Story of the Monuments Men, Book Cover
Again, sometimes fiction just can’t top the stuff that happens in real life. This is a true account from WWII and it was made into a movie a few years ago.

The Eternity Elixir, Book Cover
And last but not least, how about some awesome fantasy? This is an epic battle between good and evil. The first book in a series so if you love it, there is more to read!

An accountant and CPA by profession, I found myself a book reviewer for Squeaky Clean Reads by happenstance. When the opportunity came to transform that website into Compass Book Ratings, I was excited to seize it and meld my business background with my love of books. As the mother of three teenage sons, I have read a large number of children and young adult books and I believe that there is great value in a content review service. As much as we would love to read everything our children read, there just isn’t enough time. I also appreciate being able to select books for myself that are really worth my precious and limited reading time. I believe there is a book out there for everyone–they just have to find it!
