Weather or Not is the 5th book in The Upside-Down Magic Series by authors Sarah Mlynowski, Lauren Myracle, and Emily Jenkins. Each book focuses on one student from the Upside-Down Magic class along with Nory, and this time it’s Willa’s turn.
Sometimes coming to terms and understanding your own upside-down magic makes it hard to be patient with others that can’t control their own. Such is the case with Nory and Willa. Just as Nory is starting to be able to control her magic and use if for good, Willa starts to annoy her because she seems to make it rain at all the wrong times, ruining not only things but other’s fun as well. And poor Willa with her magic so closely linked to her emotions, she seems to be getting worse at controlling her unusual magic. It doesn’t help that nobody, not even her family, believes her when she says she can’t control it.
Upside-Down Magic #5: Weather or Not is such a fun, delightful novel about friendship, patience with others, overcoming differences or at least learning how to work with what you’ve got. The whole series really is perfect for any young reader who feels like they are different or just don’t fit in and how that unique part of you is what makes you magical.
