Overall Book Review:

Pro Gaming Star is a biography for the famous streamer, Ninja. It is written with an extremely young reading audience in mind, which makes sense when one considers that Ninja has many fans of all ages, including elementary students. The book of course discusses his gaming and streaming career, but also talks about some other accomplishments he’s had. It wraps up by encouraging young readers to look at their goals and plan some steps they can take towards succeeding at those goals, whatever they may be. The only weak point in this book is that it talks about the most general of facts, ones which a fan of Ninja would most likely already know, even if they are a young fan. So, there may not be much new material to catch a reader’s interest. Even if that is the case, this is a book that young reader who is also a Ninja fan can enjoy while also getting some practice reading.

About the Reviewer

My taste in literature leans heavily towards sci-fi, fantasy, and (my favorite) horror, and the latter can present some fairly murky waters for parents to let their children explore. I enjoy novels of both the standard and graphic varieties. Since those genres, and graphic novels in particular, tend to appeal to boys, I hope that I can help other Boy Mommies in their quest to find books that their little video gamers--I mean, future bibliophiles will read and enjoy. When I am not reading, I enjoy tabletop role-playing games, video games, and singing karaoke. I have a wonderful husband who lets me indulge my reading habit by sharing the housework and being a great dad to our genius kids and their faithful hound.
