This latest addition to the BoxCar Children’s series finds the four likeable Alden children as engaging as ever. The story line is sure to interest children who like camping, scary stories told round the campfire, and video cameras. Set in the mountains, there is not just one zombie but two that receive their just dues as the children employ technology and logic. This story line is simple and straight forward. Because it is not complex, young readers will feel invited to solve the mystery right along with the Alden children without getting sidetracked. Inherent in Ms. Warner’s series is the love and caring between the siblings and this newest title is no exception. There is a give and take relatonship that is natural and genuine. This story will not keep you up at night shivering in your bed, but it has an unexpected conclusion at the end that is completely satisfying–even to adults.
