Author Matthew J. Kirby slams another home run in The Quantum League: Spell Robbers. Mixing science fiction and fantasy, magic and quantum mechanics, Kirby takes the genre to another level. At first, with an abrupt beginning and a marginally slow start, the plot appears to be disappointingly formulaic—though enjoyable—but enough twists and turns bring the reader to the understanding that this story could truly go anywhere and be anything. Mysterious villains, ambiguous heroes, likeable characters, superpowers based in scientific principles, hints at conspiracy, and surprises around every corner: what’s not to love?
