Overall Book Review:

Smart Cookie by Elly Schwartz is a funny, clever and touching look at what it means to be a family.  The main character, Frankie, is an intelligent and compassionate young girl with hidden steel.  This inner strength serves her well in helping to keep her cool and resolve through high-jinx, person relationships or simply navigating the changes life throws at her.  Through it all Frankie is surrounded by a supporting cast of characters who serve to both challenge and uplift her.  Smart Cookie is a fast paced, lively story that shouldn’t be missed.
