Over Maya Dead Body is the third book in the Serena Jones Mysteries. It is unclear whether or not this is the final book. The previous two books should be read first, if readers want to enjoy the full scope of the characters and their personalities.
The story has action, danger, romance, some suspense, and a bit of humor. The author really helps readers enjoy her characters without telling everything she knows about them. It makes it more interesting to learn about the characters as the story develops. In particular, Aunt Martha is quite funny and yet witty and entertaining.
The interactions between the main female, Serena, and her male protagonists, Nate and Tanner, continue in the same manner as previous novels in the series. There are some surprises and interesting developments along this front. The book ends satisfactorily, but leaves an opening for a possible addition to the series.
