Many of the people that interested in this review will be parents looking into this book for their children. Children who are obsessed with this game called Minecraft–which is still quite confusing to me. No, I didn’t read this book to try to better understand this game that has become a worldwide phenomenon. I wasn’t expecting to suddenly realize all of the fun I had been missing. I’ve tried to play Minecraft– really. I have. Although this book made me think I should perhaps try again, I’m not quite there yet.
If you love Minecraft, or if you have a child who loves Minecraft, read this book! It doesn’t give any tutorials or how-tos like so many other books about the game, but instead, it tells the story behind the creator of Minecraft. It explains how a young man still lived at home with his mother after he had reached adulthood. His mother started to despair that he would ever find his place in the world. And then, Markus Persson found his place. There are many more details that this book covers. Not only is it a fun book for an adult to read, but younger readers will be really inspired by Markus’ story of success.
