Book Review

Publisher's Note:

Katie Macauley gave up her lifelong dream of returning to Ireland in order to make a home for herself in Hope Springs, Wyoming, but her future has never been so uncertain. Katies heart still remains sharply divided between playful Tavish and steady Joseph, though she feels ill-prepared to make a decision. Furthermore, the town is more divided than ever with both the Irish and the Reds stealing property, burning buildings, and endangering lives. In the midst of the growing unrest, tem¬peratures drop quickly, too quickly, and Irish nightmares of fam¬ine and cold resurface as the little Wyoming town struggles to beat the harsh winter. Katie makes one sacrifice after another to keep the peace and help see her loved ones through the difficult days ahead, but will her efforts be enough? Can the town make amends before their hatred consumes them all? And will Katie find the love she has been searching for as well as a home to call her own.…

Overall Book Review:

The wait is over! Katie Macauley is back and ready for her happy ending in Longing for Home: Hope Springs. Hope Springs is the captivating sequel to Sarah M. Eden’s proper romance, Longing for Home. The tale picks up right where it left off, so I highly recommend reading the two novels in order.

Last year I reviewed Longing for Home and found it “one of the most delightful romance reads of the year”. Happily, Hope Springs is even better! The novel is tender and emotional, packed with a perfect blend of romance and action. Eden tells a remarkable story with her rich cast of characters and ties up many of the book’s loose ends. I appreciated how Eden navigated the story’s love triangle while still creating a heartfelt ending. Hope Springs is an oh-so-satisfying read that readers will be unable to put down!

About the Reviewer

My mother was the one who sparked my love of books. Long before school instruction, she sat me down and taught me to read. My childhood was filled with trips to the library and bookmobile to find great books. My first loves were The Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder and the Pippi Longstocking series by Astrid Lingren. Now as a mom and speech pathologist, I am constantly looking for good, clean books to use at home and in therapy. I enjoy reading many different genres, but my favorites are usually historical fiction. I married my best friend, the “boy next door”, and we have a beautiful little girl who we often find sprawled out on the floor, flipping through picture books. Together our family likes to swim, run and play tennis. Besides reading, I also love to bake, garden and travel.
