Overall Book Review:

Lies, Love, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a charming contemporary romance penned by Julie Wright. Set in Hollywood, the plot is clever and creative while still maintaining a realistic feel. The novel’s heroine, Silvia, is a strong and hard-working woman with a great sense of humor. Silvia played a secondary role in Wright’s previous novel, Lies Jane Austen Told Me. Now in the spotlight, Silvia is not looking for love, but trying to move up in her career. Her attempts to follow her passion in work lead to a relationship that is full of wit, but also romantic and warmhearted. Lies, Love, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s is perfect for fans of classic Hollywood. Wright includes quotes from Aubrey Hepburn movies at the beginning of each chapter, and the frequent discussion of Hepburn will leave readers nostalgic for the days of Hollywood glitz and glamor. Lies, Loves, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a book with heart and would make a fantastic book club read. Discussion questions are even included! Pick up a copy today.

About the Reviewer

My mother was the one who sparked my love of books. Long before school instruction, she sat me down and taught me to read. My childhood was filled with trips to the library and bookmobile to find great books. My first loves were The Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder and the Pippi Longstocking series by Astrid Lingren. Now as a mom and speech pathologist, I am constantly looking for good, clean books to use at home and in therapy. I enjoy reading many different genres, but my favorites are usually historical fiction. I married my best friend, the “boy next door”, and we have a beautiful little girl who we often find sprawled out on the floor, flipping through picture books. Together our family likes to swim, run and play tennis. Besides reading, I also love to bake, garden and travel.
