Overall Book Review:

Stuck indoors?  This quick read would fill a rainy afternoon.  At only about 150 pages long, like a sweet cupcake, it’s over too soon.  This book might make you crave cupcake tops with tons of yummy frosting, but never fear, you won’t gain weight just reading this entertaining, action-packed adventure.  Lexy, the main character, is full of energy and built up as the ideal, almost believable woman.  There are several additional characters who are warm and personable, adding many of the details that bring this tale to life.  Of course, being a Cozy Mystery, there is a handsome hunk who brings the romance alive, yet the author sticks to the cozy mystery standard and keeps the romance lighthearted.  Having read the Kindle version, there are a few places the grammar isn’t quite right, nevertheless, the plot kept me going because it’s well-developed and suspenseful.  It’s fun and entertaining right through to the end.  There are eleven books in this Lexy Baker mystery series to enjoy and this is only the first.  Now on to book two!

About the Reviewer

Reading a good adventure story has always been a vacation in the theater of my mind. When I’m stressed or just need to get away for a few minutes, I love the opportunity to climb into somebody else’s world. I didn’t enjoy reading until I was in the Air Force and building bombs in Korea; it was a wonderful distraction from the real world. (I tried bull riding, but it wasn’t exciting enough.)
