Julia is biographical fiction written by Heather B. Moore and based on the life of Julia Child. Even if you have never heard of Julia Child, this book has a sweetness about it. It is really a romantic tale depicting the events in Julia’s life which ultimately led to her finding her spouse. Then it continues on to share parts of Julia and Paul Child’s life together.

Many may not be aware of Julia’s story and this book shares it in a natural way. The story also helps readers better understand women’s role in the war efforts. The book keeps readers interested in learning more about how Julia Child became famous. Heather Moore is skilled at mixing narrative with facts.

This story does not hide some of the disappointments and hardships encountered by the Childs. One of the many great lessons learned is that of perseverance. Julia and Paul Child’s story shows what it means to be supportive and loving. Julia is an enjoyable read with a lot of interesting topics.
