In true classic Lynette Eason style, Final Approach begins with fast-paced action which continues throughout the book. Although this is the fourth and final book in the Lake City Heroes series, it is not necessary to have read all of the other books in order to follow the storyline. However, knowing the backstory for other characters makes it more enjoyable.
Those familiar with Eason’s style will not be surprised about much in this book. Readers can expect twists, misdirection, and insights into the mind of twisted individuals. Fortunately, the author is thoughtful and ties up the plot points by the end of this book. No one gets left hanging waiting to find out what happens.
The main characters, Kristine and Andrew, are interesting, but a bit predictable. Each has a trauma from the past and needs to figure it out before being able to move forward. It is nice to have the plot propel the characters along in their healing and recovery rather than having their issues control the story. Although it occasionally feels as though some of the decisions made by Kristine are pretty silly and irresponsible. In addition to a lot of intense actions scenes, there is romance. Come join the familiar gang and get to know others a lot better.
