Collision of Lies by Tom Threadgill is a book clearly not written to exclusively appease the romantic reader fans of the world.  The book is focused on the mystery at hand and the uncertainty of various bits of information discovered or provided to Amara Alvarez, a member of the San Antonio Police force.

The author has a great way of sharing his characters and their relationships that make the reader feel as though he is present for the conversations and interactions.  The dry humor comes across as natural and part of the characters’ lives and not just something the writer put in to entertain.

There are all sorts of things happening in this story and it keeps readers wondering exactly when or how these things might be related.  Things get intense and it is not easy to walk away from the story.  The need to know what happens next is very compelling.  Never fear those of you who enjoy romance–hints are being dropped and characters are clearly picking up on them, it is just not a book focused on the romance.
