Overall Book Review:

Chasing Secrets is the fourth book in Lynette Eason’s Elite Guardians series.  It has an interesting premise that develops as more of a peripheral plot than the main story.  This does several things for the story.  First, it keeps the readers guessing about what is really happening and who is behind it.  Secondly, it allows the readers to get to know the characters in spite of the growing subplot that has a potential to overtake the story.

Lynette Eason does not disappoint in this novel.  There is romance that develops slowly in the midst of danger and difficulty.  The story of the young man named Zeke and his brother is one that is all too common amongst those living in less than ideal circumstances.  The story is full of action and some mystery.  It keeps the reader’s attention until the very end.  This is not a feel-good read that gives you warm fuzzies, but it does have its moments.
