Books and reading have always been an important part of my life. When I was very young, my grandma was the library director at our local public library. Years later, after she had retired, I became a librarian at the same library and worked there for several years before taking a part-time job at a local coffee shop, which gives me more time to do what I love, to read and to review books! A few of my favorite authors are Aimee Bender, Diane Chamberlain, and Curtis Sittenfeld however, I will read almost any book I come across! In my spare time you can find me reading (of course), volunteering at a wildlife animal rehab, or hanging out with my three house rabbits.

Author Curtis Sittenfeld sure has a way with words. Her characters in Sisterland are all in a state of denial to some degree, and it is interesting to see how they grow and come to realize t…
Jodi Picoult is such a great author that you feel as if you are a part of her story while you are reading it. Her books usually have a twist near the end, where you are not exactly sure how the book i…
The Gilly Salt Sisters by Tiffany Baker is both magical and logical at the same time. Salt plays a big part in this story, and so does family--two things which I enjoy. It is almost as if the mor…
If you are looking for a mystery novel to keep you interested and even a bit confused (in a good way), then I suggest you try this short read. It is just the right length to have a good amount of stor…
The science of friend-making is very complex. I have never had many friends, and when I saw this book on the shelf at Target, I knew it would be something I would be interested in. Rachel walks you th…
Alexander McCall Smith is back again, with a charming novel that is sure to burrow its way into your heart and invite itself to stay for a while. His characters are easy to become acquainted with and …
