Books and reading have always been an important part of my life. When I was very young, my grandma was the library director at our local public library. Years later, after she had retired, I became a librarian at the same library and worked there for several years before taking a part-time job at a local coffee shop, which gives me more time to do what I love, to read and to review books! A few of my favorite authors are Aimee Bender, Diane Chamberlain, and Curtis Sittenfeld however, I will read almost any book I come across! In my spare time you can find me reading (of course), volunteering at a wildlife animal rehab, or hanging out with my three house rabbits.

Having read Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple and having enjoyed it immensely, I thought I might as well give Maria Semple's only other book a try. Chances were, I thought, that it …
If you have read any of Claire Cook's books, you will recognize the certain lively style she has of writing a book that women can closely relate to. Even if you are not going through a divorce, l…
All the books I have read that have a ballerina as a main character, I have liked. I even liked the movie Black Swan, though at times I wanted to run from the room with my hands clapped over my e…
The first Matthew Quick book I read was The Silver Linings Playbook, and I really only picked it up because I liked the movie so much. (Surprisingly, the book didn't outshine the movie for me. I …
Having read Tatiana de Rosnay's three previous novels published in the United States, I thought I knew what I was in for when I picked up her newest book. Not so much. I was pleasantly surprised …
After reading this book I had a few thoughts I really wanted to share with others readers. First, I think I now have a legitimate fear of losing my memory. I mean, how terrifying would that be?! I sup…
If you have any interest at all in the history of noodles, then this book should fit your fancy. We American's are well acquainted with spaghetti and Ramen, but Jen takes us on a wild ride to the dist…
