Books and reading have always been an important part of my life. When I was very young, my grandma was the library director at our local public library. Years later, after she had retired, I became a librarian at the same library and worked there for several years before taking a part-time job at a local coffee shop, which gives me more time to do what I love, to read and to review books! A few of my favorite authors are Aimee Bender, Diane Chamberlain, and Curtis Sittenfeld however, I will read almost any book I come across! In my spare time you can find me reading (of course), volunteering at a wildlife animal rehab, or hanging out with my three house rabbits.
Sometimes I find it difficult to be drawn into a book of short stories. What is the author trying to do? Did they just have a little idea, and not the whole story, but decide to share it anyway? Why n…
This book reminded me of many other non-fiction books I have read that are written by women looking for their purpose in life. Most often, these women are middle-aged. They may be going through a "mid…

Hacking Harvard meets Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer in this book about scams, cons, and making it to the top. I adore books that involve smart kids. It's so much fun to read a book that ha…
I started reading this book, and immediately I felt like I had been transported back to my early teenage years. This book reminded me so much of Ella Enchanted, a book I read over and over, a boo…
I was expecting this book to be non-fiction, so when I saw "a novel" I was taken aback. After my initial shock had worn off, and I had read the first chapters, I was quite surprised at how wonderful t…
I've mentioned in previous reviews that I am fascinated by the Holocaust--not in a creepy way. I am just astounded when I read about the horrific events that transpired at the time, and how humanity h…
Just when you thought you had read them all...here is another book you should read if you loved The Hunger Games. At times, this book was eerily similar; at others, it held no resemblance wh…
I was unaware that there was a novel preceding this one, which tells the story of a few of the characters introduced in Tiny Little Thing. So, now I have another book on my TBR list, as I am…
I've now read all of Rebecca Makkai's books, and though this particular one isn't my favorite so far, I did enjoy it. I even read some of the stories twice--just so I could be sure I got their full ef…
I am a huge fan of libraries. If I were not a librarian, I think I would still spend as much time in a library as I do right now. So obviously, books about libraries appeal to me. This book has a titl…
My mother loves Anne of Green Gables, and I think I inherited that love from her. In fact, I adore L.M. Montgomery as a writer. So when I ran across this book on a website, I knew I had to read i…
