Books and reading have always been an important part of my life. When I was very young, my grandma was the library director at our local public library. Years later, after she had retired, I became a librarian at the same library and worked there for several years before taking a part-time job at a local coffee shop, which gives me more time to do what I love, to read and to review books! A few of my favorite authors are Aimee Bender, Diane Chamberlain, and Curtis Sittenfeld however, I will read almost any book I come across! In my spare time you can find me reading (of course), volunteering at a wildlife animal rehab, or hanging out with my three house rabbits.
I typically don't read many books about foreign countries, mostly because I just can't relate. (Perhaps one of my New Year's resolutions should be to broaden my reading horizons.)  Although I cou…
Geoergia O'Keeffe was never someone I was interested in or knew much about. My sister liked her artwork, and I remember my grandma talking about how O'Keeffe's work was considered sexual in some ways.…
This book is not for the faint of heart. I knew that going in, so I was prepared, but for anyone who doesn't fully know what this book is about, be forewarned. That is not to say you shouldn't read it…
Wow.After reading this book I had to step back just a bit and evaluate my own life. I am nothing like Rob Roberge, but somehow he went from a seemingly normal-ish person, to a drug and sex addict so w…

From the synopsis of this book, I was fairly certain I would be in good company, but I was disappointed by this book. It left me feeling like I was missing something. I have come to the conclusion tha…
I have to admit that I am not real keen on historical fiction, and when I first began reading this book I had the feeling this novel was just that. But not to worry, this book is so much more! To be h…
After reading this book, I was trying to decide who I would recommend it to. I came to the conclusion that people who enjoyed The Astronaut Wives Club by Lily Koppel or The Girls of Ato…
I'm not typically into books about America during World War II. I'd much rather read about the ways those in the prison camps survived, or Anne Frank. But for some reason this book called to me. I sta…
I'm not sure what I was expecting from this book, but it sure wasn't what I got. This book was marvelously creepy, even though from the cover, I never would have thought that. I was expecting some gen…
Readers looking for a book that will transport them to a world of reality and fantasy may just want to try this one. I wasn't sure what to expect, and I guess I am still not entirely sure what this wa…
ute! This book is about shoes, yes, but it is also about a journey. Patricia Morrisroe knows how to tell a story, especially if it involves shoes. Footwear is obviously a big part of her life, and has…
