An accountant and CPA by profession, I found myself a book reviewer for Squeaky Clean Reads by happenstance. When the opportunity came to transform that website into Compass Book Ratings, I was excited to seize it and meld my business background with my love of books. As the mother of three teenage sons, I have read a large number of children and young adult books and I believe that there is great value in a content review service. The Nethergrim by Matthew Jobin is compared to The Ranger's Apprentice on the book jacket; that isn't a bad place to start.  Set in a medieval fantasy world (great map, by the way)…
Gabriel Finley and the Raven's Riddle is a middle grade fantasy set in Brooklyn and the underground city of Aviopolis.  There is magic, talking birds, dancing desks, flying, and yes, there a…

Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's House we go... Yes, it is that time of year when the family piles in the car to trek to visit family and friends for the holidays. Nothing says…
