All That It Takes by Nicole Deese is a follow up book to All That Really Matters. It is helpful but not essential to have read the first book. Readers will come across multiple references to the previous story, but it does not make it impossible to follow what is happening.
One of the endearing parts of this story is some of the peripheral characters. They add fun personalities and a break for the main characters and their challenges. The story is not a fast-paced action book. It is more of a look at the introspection and growth that happens as the two main characters learn to become the person God wants them to be.
Romantics will find something to enjoy here as well. It is a little disappointing that the relationship journey is disrupted by a classic fly off the handle element without bothering to discuss the issues. Even with this as its main focus, the book touches on very important lessons about figuring out what God wants for us and taking action.
