A Moonbow Night by Laura Frantz takes place in colonial America.  1777 was full of exploration, Native American conflicts, illness and brave people who faced the unknown.  This book contains all of these elements and more.

Frantz writes of two main characters: Tempe and Sion.  Each of them has experienced devastating losses under brutal circumstances.  The story follows them as they face the challenges of an uncertain future and discover healing from their emotional wounds.

The historical aspects of the novel are instructive and fascinating, but the book is written in such a way that one feels as though it is a beautiful poem–not the sort of poem that rhymes and uses repetitive phrasing–but the type of poem which causes the reader to feel deep emotions.  It flows and resonates in just the right ways.

Readers hoping for fast-paced instant action will not be satisfied, but if one plans to savor the experience and really connect with the characters, this book is for you.  Enjoy this trip back in time to a different era.  Romance, heartache, danger and adventure are all included in this journey.
