This work of historical fiction takes place in the early nineteen-hundreds or so. It comes complete with everything one would expect from a novel with the word debutante in its title. Some of the scenes are humorous, others tender and endearing. The lead characters of Calliope and Edward are interesting and yet oh so practical. Love may be something found when one least expects it.
Throughout it all, the friends of Calliope Hart stand out as dedicated and faithful. They each have their own quirks and opinion of finding a match in London high society. The relationships these women share is based on truth and honesty. None of them are trying to best one another in the match-making game. It will be fun to read more about these ladies in future installments of the series. Romance is sure to abound.
