A Sparkle of Silver by Liz Johnson is the first of the Georgia Coast Romance series. This book focuses on the mystery surrounding an old chateau and its former occupants, but it takes place in modern times. Information about past events comes largely through journal entries and letters.
Millie is the main female character, and she is in a very difficult and emotionally challenging situation. Readers will find themselves sympathetic to her predicament, but perhaps wondering about her choice of action. Ben, the man she recruits to help her with her plan, is also a driven man with many scars from his past.
The relationship that develops between these two is sweet and satisfying. Those who love the romance genre will be ready to stay up a few extra hours just to see where things go next. This is a work of fiction by a Christian publisher so be prepared for many discussions about one’s relationship to God.
