Originally published in 1990, The Twelve Dancing Princesses by Ruth Sanderson was re-released this month with a new cover and design. A picture book targeted at older readers, this book’s artwork makes it irresistable. (Testament to this fact is that a certain teenage boy and his father were caught reading it.) Lovers of fairy tales will adore this book and it would be perfect for that reluctant young reader that balks at chapter books. The pictures are postively luminescent and compliment the story’s style. Sanderson’s radiant The Twelve Dancing Princesses is a splendid book to introduce a lesser known fairy-tale.
