My Fair Gentleman by Nancy Campbell Allen is part of a series entitled Proper Romance.  As the series title suggests, My Fair Gentleman is a regency romance in which an unlikely heir needs instruction on how to fit into “proper” society.

Some scenes are funny, others sad, and still others sweet and sentimental.  Yep, everything one would like to see in a regency piece is found here.  Nancy Campbell Allen does a nice job of making her characters likeable and believable. 

This is an easy read that gives readers the opportunity to imagine living in an earlier time.  Perhaps the biggest complaint about the book is the ending for the secondary characters.  The author dropped a few hint and implications, but nothing solid.  The next book by this author does not relate to this novel.  Get comfortable and enjoy getting to know its characters and their stories!
