Jen Turano truly outdoes herself this time. Her third book in The Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency, To Disguise the Truth, is witty, hilarious, and moving. The author must just be rolling on the floor in laughter while she writes. This is by far some of the funniest writing in inspirational romance today.
The story takes place in the late 1880s. Reading about the unusual women of The Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency is a pure delight. While their behavior might not be so shocking today, it is easy to imagine how their unconventional ways would have flown in the face of tradition. Jen Turano really gives voice to the upset this might have caused.
Reading this book brings joy and sorrow, romance enough to melt any stoic’s heart and an endless supply of twists and turns in the plot. Mystery lovers will never have laughed so much while trying to solve the intrigues.
