Blackberry Beach is the seventh and final book in Irene Hannon’s Hope Harbor Series.  If you have read any of her previous works in this group, there will not be a lot to surprise you.  If you are picking this up because you know what to expect and are looking for a nice safe read, then this will not disappoint.

Hope Harbor is an idyllic setting along the Oregon’s coast.  The people in the town are all friendly and only the visitors seem to have attitude problems.  As the stories develop, the reason for the characters and their attitudes becomes apparent.  Then the main characters use support from the locals to face and accept or overcome their challenges.

Blackberry Beach is no different than the previous books.  It was a debate as to whether or not to rate this lower because of this or to ignore the previous books and focus instead on the story penned by Hannon.  Readers know and trust Hannon in this series to provide a story that confronts challenging life situations without the intense negative feelings found in other sorts of books.  Hannon delivers the story her readers are looking to read.  This is a book where hope abounds and characters can find themselves on the path to recovery and change.
