Looking for a way to have fun with rubber band jewelry and integrate religious lessons from the Bible?  If so, then Bible Bands by Katreina Eden is the book for you.  Although most of my reviews are written in a non-personal fashion, I want to note that the review information regarding patterns, instructions and ease of use were reviewed by my twelve-year old daughter. 

Once my daughter knew the book was coming, she anxiously checked the mail-box every day until its arrival.  Not only that, but she let her friends know it was coming and, once it arrived, they poured over the patterns and selected patterns they wanted to make.  The book did not disappoint.  Not only were the bracelets interesting, but the children remembered what they symbolized.

According to my child, “the pictures were really good and there was a mix of familiar and new patterns.”  All of the patterns she tried had clear instructions complimented by detailed photographs.  The only negative comment I heard was that the heart patterns looked “like blobs.”  This is a great book for children to use.

As an adult, the book was well laid out in an easy to read format.  It would be very simple to create lessons around the theme of each bracelet as scriptural references are provided as well as a short explanation of each concept.   Anyone hoping to teach a faith-based, non-denominational Christian message to children of any age would find this book helpful.  Any child looking for interesting jewelry designs would enjoy this.
