Windsong Manor by Julie Wright is delightful! Protagonist Nora might be one of the best leading characters in Shadow Mountain’s Proper Romance line. Nora comes across as winsome, courageous, and real–with parenting anxieties most of us can relate to. As Nora strives to do what is best for her children, readers will be rooting for her. The plot hums along at a nice pace and has the right amount of mystery and intrigue. Nora’s love interest, Ridley, is equally charming and his backstory compelling. Wright creates the perfect amount of romantic tension between characters. Windsong Manor is a romance with substance, meaning Wright delves deep into themes of personal strength, familial love, and finding oneself. This novel needs to be on everyone’s to-be-read list. Let’s also hope for a sequel to revisit these new friends!
