The Smartest Kid in the Universe: Evil Genius begins with the perfect, concise recap of what previously occurred in the series so new readers can dive right into the story (although I highly recommend the previous two books). Author Chris Grabenstein tosses the main characters Jake and Kojo into action from page one. Along with the action, readers who enjoy solving puzzles will love that there are a few throughout the story as well as a bonus puzzle to look forward to after the conclusion. Grabenstein also creates fantastic characters who are entertaining and evolving. Among those characters are Grace, Kojo and Jake who continue to grow their awesome friendship. We are also thrown a few surprises from the characters and the plot to keep things interesting. Readers who enjoy books full of intrigue and adventure will love The Smartest Kid in the Universe: Evil Genius!
