Overall Review:

When Santa Fell to Earth is a charming, middle grade Christmas story with all the creative, whimsical elements that Cornelia Funke is so skilled at imagining.  Evil nutcrackers, grumpy elves, invisible reindeer with a fondness for marzipan, a magical caravan--these are just a few of the elements that give this story so much personality.  You can practically smell the gingerbread coming off the pages in this magical, fun, and sweet story.

There is an audiobook version of this title, read by the author, which is quite fine.  This novel will be sure to put both young and old in a Christmas spirit.  Really, Christmas should be magical and if you have forgotten that, then this novel is just what you need.
