Capture the Moment by Suzanne Woods Fisher is the first installment of the National Parks Summer series. The book is filled with interesting characters that all have their own concerns and motives. Somehow, they come together and form the core group of the Teton National Park team. The beauty of the Tetons is a great backdrop for telling a great story. So many different things are happening with all of these characters, it seems like it would be a chaotic read, but the author handles it very well.

One of the most interesting and appreciated methods was using a single page vignette at the start of the chapters to introduce and share the thoughts of the antagonist. This allowed the reader to get a glimpse into what was happening, but not to get too caught up in it. The author is then able to focus on the stories of her main characters.

There are so many emotions and happenings it is hard to capture in a simple review. Suffice to say Suzanne Woods Fisher really demonstrated her ability to develop characters and their emotions in a short amount of time. Readers will be caught up in all sorts of experiences as they try to figure out what is happening with each character. Whether it be romance or struggling relationships or uncertainty about one’s future, the characters and their stories are enjoyable to read and it almost feels as though they are so real, the character might actually walk right off the page. The author throws in a few unexpected twists and turns as well.
