Overall Review:

Chance's Bluff is a captivating tale about finding a place to belong. Set in the western frontier of Oregon, Montana and Idaho, the story follows main characters Ben, Chance, and Annabelle. These three each suffer great loss in the beginning chapters and readers will be hard pressed to put the book down. Author Catherine McGreevy keeps the story engaging with steady pacing and strong writing. McGreevy additionally captures the 'Wild West' time period with the inclusion of bank robberies, pioneer trains, and Indian hunts. In addition to action and adventure, Chance's Bluff features a sweet romance. While the appearance of the same villain throughout the book seemed a bit far-fetched, the plot and characters are enjoyable and entertaining. Try Chance's Bluff for your next historical fiction fix!
