Overall Review:

Set in the 1960s, these stories of good versus evil have no shortage of action.  This book is a compilation of 17 stories by 17 authors.  All of the stories are well-written, bringing this classic hero to life.  The Green Hornet has no magical or special powers.  He's just a mere mortal trying to save his city.  Masquerading as a gangster in order to infiltrate the bad guys, he collects information vital to the police and city attorneys.  At first, it's hard to tell whose side the Hornet and Kato are on but as the stories flow by, it becomes obvious whose side they are on.  His sidekick, Kato, is the Green Hornet's partner and protector.  His moves are truly impressive.

Although it's written by 17 authors, the stories flow together and the vital details remain the same.  All of the authors have done an impressive job bringing their tales to life in the theater of the mind.  Animated characters energize these action-packed pages.  A few of the characters are main stays in each story and the authors do a good job making them good role models with positive life lessons.  There is even a charming surprise ending.

Due to the violence and profanity used liberally throughout this book, this would probably be best suited for adult readers.  There is another compilation of the Green hornet stories by the title of The Green Hornet Chronicles; however, it is not necessary to read it before reading The Green Hornet Still at Large.
