Overall Review:

Completely, utterly, and devastatingly charming!  Little Robot by Ben Hatke is a sweet story of loyalty and friendship with adorable characters.  Illustrated in full-color, the alluring artwork is a large part of this book's appeal.  However, the characters are equally captivating: a little girl with some mechanical inclinations and an innocent robot finding his place in the world. It is difficult to pick a favorite aspect of this graphic novel--artwork or characters?  The solution: Just love it all!

Although the age suggested for this book is 6-9 and the Compass Book Ratings age scale starts at 9+, this is truly a book that could be enjoyed by a much younger reader.  The text is limited and simple so it could also serve a beginning reader quite well.  Besides, no one can truly resist a robot!
