Publisher's Note:

Evie’s always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours.

But Evie’s about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.

So much for normal.

Sometimes you are in the mood to read a book just for pure enjoyment and fun. If you are in that mood, GET THIS BOOKParanormalcy is one of the most gripping and fascinating books I’ve ever read! Kiersten White does a fantastic job at capturing teenage attitude, developing relationships, and provoking reader’s curiosity. There is just the right amount of action, romance, and creativity to keep this story actively moving. You may be surprised at how fast you finish it because you just can’t stop reading!

Content Analysis:

The main content concern in Paranormalcy is sexual content, although even that is minimal. The word “sex” is mentioned several times but never in a lewd way. Characters hold hands and kiss throughout the book but the scenes and descriptions are very clean and innocent. The main character mentions once about a boy’s lack of interest in intimacy (because he’s not human).

Violence was also present in this book. There are many types of “Paranormals” in the story including vampires, hags, werewolves, and they mention what they do (suck blood, bite someone, eat children) but it never gets explicit. There is quite a bit of killing done in the second half of the book by the antagonist, but it isn’t done in a violent way.

There is no profanity except for the fact that the character says “Bleep” throughout the book in place of swear words! Despite the few issues, this book felt like a clean read. The author wrote very maturely and carefully. I would recommend this book for 14+ because of the few sexuality issues and it's a little scary!
