Overall Review:

Cat's Cradle: A Book of String Figures is written for beginners to string figures. In addition to cat's cradle, it includes directions for three other figures: cup and saucer, Eiffel Tower, and witch's broom, all very simple figures; and Jacob's ladder, a more complicated figure, but like cat's cradle, very well known.

Those with more experience with string figures may enjoy the picture book Lost! A Story in String where readers learn to illustrate the story with string figures.

Both these books fit my criteria for good books on strings figures: clear, simple instructions with illustrations that show every step.

If you're going to use other string figure books, you may want to check them yourself to see if the directions are clear and if there are illustrations for every step.

Reading Level can't be determined.

Also good for reluctant readers.

Of interest to boys and girls.
